Eligibility Requirements
In order to apply for a grant from the Papa Konga Foundation:
Scholarship for First Nations Students

The candidate must be from First Nations under the Indian Act. There is no need, however, to be part of a reserve, even young individuals living away from reserves who wish to apply can do so.

Candidates applying for undergraduate studies must be under 25 years of age at the time of applying. A person applying for a graduate degree must be less than 30 years of age at the time of application.

The candidate must have duly completed the admission form on the foundation’s website.

The candidate must provide all required documents.

The candidate must have been admitted to a recognized Canadian university. They must be enrolled full-time in a degree program.

The candidate must have excellent academic results as evidenced by their transcripts and letters of appreciation from their evaluators. Regardless of the system, candidates are expected to have successfully completed their studies with an average of at least 70% of possible grades.

Demonstrate having displayed both courage and resiliency in the past to persevere in the face of difficulties.

Have a project/dream for which the candidate is willing to invest time and energy towards a goal of success

Demonstrate that financial assistance would allow them to meet genuine needs towards the well-defined candidate objectives.
Scholarship for Candidates in Developing Countries

The candidate must have citizenship of a developing country

They must demonstrate that they come from a low-income family, attested by the occupation and income of their parents or closest relatives.

They must have previously applied at a Western university and been duly accepted. The letter of admission from this university must be attached to the application.

The candidate must be enrolled full-time in a program leading to a diploma.

The candidate must provide all required documents for application prior to submission deadline.

Candidates applying for undergraduate studies must be under 25 years of age at the time of applying. A person applying for a graduate degree must be less than 30 years of age at the time of application. Older applicants may apply, exceptionally provided that they submit explanations justifying the delay.

The candidate must have excellent academic results, as evidenced by their transcripts and letters of appreciation from their evaluators. Regardless of the system, applicants are expected to have successfully completed their studies with an average of at least 70% of the possible grades.

Restrictions:
The Papa Konga Foundation will not consider funding applications for the following purposes:

Fundraising campaigns for organizations.
-
Funding for individual projects that are void of meaning.
